Description
The Real Time PCR detection Kit Panel Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (Staphylococcus aureus and Methicillin resistance gene) comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Staphylococcus aureus and Methicillin resistance gene detection by using qPCR.
GENERAL INFORMATION:Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a bacterium responsible for several difficult-to-treat infections in humans. It is also called multidrug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and oxacillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (ORSA). MRSA is any strain of Staphylococcus aureus that has developed resistance to β-lactam antibiotics, which include the penicillins (methicillin, dicloxacillin, nafcillin, oxacillin, etc.) and the cephalosporins. The evolution of such resistance does not cause the organism to be more intrinsically virulent than strains of Staphylococcus aureus that have no antibiotic resistance, but resistance does make MRSA infection more difficult to treat with standard types of antibiotics and thus more dangerous. Methicillin resistance arises by acquisition of a staphylococcal cassette chromosome SCCmec, and is conferred by the Methicillin resistance gene (MRG). Expression of this gene yields PBP2a, a penicillin binding protein with reduced affinity for β-lactam rings (the primary active-site of the β-lactam antibiotics). Earlier studies have underlined the important role of the enzymatic family FemXAB (factors essential for methicillin resistance) in the formation of the pentaglycine bridges that stabilize peptidoglycan chains in Staphylococcus aureus. The MRG Test detects the gene responsible for antibiotic resistance. StaAur Test detects a chromosomal gene specific of Staphylococcus aureus.
KIT CHARACTERISTICS:
- Assay Mix Target composed by singleplex mixtures of specific forward/reverse primers and probe.
- Resuspension buffer
- DNase/RNase free water
- (OPTIONAL) Internal Control Assay Mix
- Mastermix solution
- Positive control

Real Time PCR Detection Kit Staphylococcus aureus
Detection by qPCR of all strains of the species Staphylococcus aureus. Staphylococcus aureus is a common cause of skin infections (e.g.boils), respiratory disease (e.g.sinusitis), and food poisoning. Disease-associated strains often promote infections by producing potent protein toxins and expressing cell-surface proteins that bind and inactivate antibodies. The emergence of antibiotic-resistant forms of pathogenic S. aureus (e.g.MRSA) is a worldwide problem in clinical medicine.

Real Time PCR Detection Kit Staphylococcus epidermidis
Staphylococcus epidermidis detection test kit by using qPCR. Staphylococcus epidermidis is an important opportunistic pathogen, being the most frequent cause of nosocomial infections. S. epidermidis is capable of growing and form biofilms in catheters or other surgical implants, producing infections difficult to treat with antibiotics.

Real Time PCR Detection Kit Methicillin resistance gene
Methicillin resistance gene detection test kit by using qPCR. Methicillin resistance gene most common carriers are Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) or Streptococcus pneumoniae. The methicillin resistance allows a bacterium to be resistant to β-lactam antibiotics which include the penicillins (methicillin, dicloxacillin, nafcillin, oxacillin, etc) and other cephalosporins.
