Description
The Real Time PCR detection Kit Panel Cyanotoxin Genes (Microcystine toxin genes mycB and mycE) comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Microcystine toxin genes mcyB and mcyE detection by using qPCR.
GENERAL INFORMATION:Microcystins (or cyanoginosins) are a class of toxins produced by certain freshwater cyanobacteria, commonly known as blue-green algae. The main productor are species from the Microcystis genus, but other genera as Planktothrix, Anabaena, Nostoc and Fisherella can produce toxins as well. Mycrocystins can cause liver damage to several animal species including dogs, fish, birds, and livestock. Genes involved in the biosynthesis of the toxin are organized into two operons (mcyA-C and mcyD-J). The assay was designed to recognise genes mcyE and mcyB, one from each operon, with a wide range of inclusiveness despite the high degree of diversity achieved for each genera. The presence of this genes in a water sample can be correlated in most cases with the presence of microcystins.
KIT CHARACTERISTICS:
- Assay Mix Target composed by singleplex mixtures of specific forward/reverse primers and probe.
- Resuspension buffer
- DNase/RNase free water
- (OPTIONAL) Internal Control Assay Mix
- Mastermix solution
- Positive control

Real Time PCR Detection Kit Foodborne Poisoning Panel 4plex
Detection test kit of Foodborne Poisoning (Salmonella spp., Listeria monocytogenes and shiga toxins 1 and 2) by using qPCR. Foodborne poisoning is any illness resulting from food contaminated with a disease-causing agent such as pathogenic bacteria, viruses, or parasites. The foodborne illness usually arises from improper handling, preparation, or food storage. Good hygiene practices before, during, and after food preparation can reduce the chances of contracting an illness. The action of monitoring food, to ensure that it will not cause foodborne illness, is known as food safety. As bacteria are a common cause of foodborne illness, there are three main targets controlled by food safety normative: Salmonella spp., Listeria monocytogenes, and more recently the Shiga toxigenic group of Escherichia coli (STEC). Shiga toxins have many names, which can be used interchangeably (shiga toxins, shiga-like toxins, cytotoxins, verocytotoxins, verotoxins). STEC live in the guts of ruminant animals, including cattle, goats, sheep, deer, and elk.
