GENERAL INFORMATION:Streptococcus suis is a Gram-positive, facultatively anaerobic, non-motile bacterium that belongs to the Streptococcus genus. This organism colonizes the upper respiratory tract in pigs during parturition, being part of the natural microbiome of tonsils and gastrointestinal tract. Nevertheless, infection with certain strains of S. suis result in swine streptococcosis, which is characterised by meningitis, septicaemia, endocarditis, arthritis and pneumonia. Transmission usually occurs by mixing healthy carrier pigs with uninfected individuals. This bacterium is present anywhere in the world, but most strains from Asia and Europe are highly virulent and can spread systematically throughout the animal. S. suis can also infect humans when handling infected pig products, especially if there are exposed cuts and abrasions.

Real Time PCR Detection Kit Streptococcus agalactiae

Streptococcus agalactiae detection test kit by using qPCR. Streptococcus agalactiae (also known as group B Streptococcus) was originally discovered as a cause of bovine mastitis (present also in related ungulates) and is part of the normal bacterial flora colonizing the gastrointestinal tract and genitourinary tract of the human population. S. agalactiae poses a serious threat to lives of neonates and to lives of human. This microorganism is considered one of the major causes of economic losses to dairy producers without a control program.

Real Time PCR Detection Kit Streptococcus spp.

Streptococcus spp. detection test kit by using qPCR. Streptococcus are not pathogenic and form part of the commensal microbiota of the mouth, skin, intestine, and upper respiratory tract. However, some Streptococcus species infect a barrage of different animals, including humans, with diseases such as pink eye, meningitis, bacterial pneumonia, endocarditis, erysipelas and necrotizing fasciitis. Some of these relevant pathogenic species are S. agalactiae, S. dysgalactiae, S. bovis, S. suis, S. pneumoniae or S. gallolyticus.

Real Time PCR Detection Kit Mycoplasma suis

Mycoplasma suis detection test kit by using qPCR. Mycoplasma suis (formerly known as Eperythrozoon suis) is the most prevalent agent causing hemolytic anemia in swine, which is characterized by listlessness, fever, anorexia, hemolytic anemia, and, in severe cases, icterus. M. suis can cause acute disease, but the major significance of their infections lies in the fact that M. suis can establish chronic and persistent infections leading to a higher susceptibility to other infections, especially in the respiratory and digestive tracts.
