Background:Detection of Hepatitis C virus by using qPCR.
Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is an enveloped, positive-sense single-stranded RNA virus in the family Flaviviridae. Structural proteins made by the hepatitis C virus include Core proteins, E1 and E2; nonstructural proteins include NS2, NS3, NS4A, NS4B, NS5A, and NS5B. Hepatitis C virus is the major cause of liver disease in humans. Like many viruses, the hepatitis C virus is gradually inactivated outside the host. The kit is designed to include all the genetic heterogeneity of the HCV, including genotype 4, the most common variant of the virus in the Middle East and Africa, particularly Egypt.
