Background:Detection of Hepatitis D virus by using qPCR.
Hepatitis delta virus(HDV) a small circular enveloped RNA virus responsible for hepatitis D or delta hepatitis. HDV is considered to be a subviral satellite (incomplete virus) because it can propagate only in the presence of the hepatitis B virus (HBV). Coinfection with HDV results in more severe complications compared to infection with HBV alone.
