The Real Time PCR detection Kit Haemoparasitic Protozoan Panel (Theileria spp. and Babesia spp.) comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Theileria spp. and Babesia spp. detection by using qPCR.

GENERAL INFORMATION:Theileria and Babesia are genera of parasitic protozoan belonging to the phylum Apicomplexa. Both are transmitted by tick species, infecting blood, and causing a parasitic disease. Both are known to be a serious illness for wild and domesticated animals, especially cattle, but only few species have been documented to be pathogenic in humans. Even when Theileria and Babesia cause a similar disease, differentiation is of relevance since each genus respond differently to drug treatments.
