Description
The Real Time PCR detection Kit Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae omIA II comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae omlA II detection by using qPCR.
GENERAL INFORMATION:Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae (previously Haemophilus pleuropneumoniae) is a non-motile, Gram-negative, encapsulated coccobacillus from the family Pasteurellaceae. It causes porcine pleuropneumonia, a highly contagious respiratory disease in young pigs, particularly under 6 months old. Symptoms include respiratory distress, bloodstained discharge, fever, cyanosis, anorexia, and spontaneous abortion in sows. Mortality rates can reach 20-80% in fattening pigs, with high morbidity. Survivors often become carriers, further spreading the infection. There are two biotypes and at least 15 serotypes, all of which can cause disease. The variation in virulence between serotypes is attributed to the differential expression of virulence factors, including the omlA gene, which encodes a key outer membrane lipoprotein crucial for pathogenicity. The omlA II variant in A. pleuropneumoniae is linked to less virulent strains compared to omlA I strains, causing milder infections with lower disease severity, symptoms, and mortality.
KIT CHARACTERISTICS:
- Assay Mix Target composed by singleplex mixtures of specific forward/reverse primers and probe.
- Resuspension buffer
- DNase/RNase free water
- (OPTIONAL) Internal Control Assay Mix
- Mastermix solution
- Positive control
