GENERAL INFORMATION:All members of the VEGF family (VEGF-A, -B, -C, -D, -E) stimulate cellular responses by binding to tyrosine kinase receptors (the VEGFRs) on the cell surface, causing them to dimerize and become activated through transphosphorylation. The VEGF receptors have an extracellular portion consisting of 7 immunoglobulin-like domains, a single transmembrane spanning region and an intracellular portion containing a split tyrosine-kinase domain. The VEGFR-3, which is also known as Flt-4 (Fms-like tyrosine kinase 4), has been discovered as a third receptor. It is known that VEGFR-3/Flt-4 mediates lymphangiogenesis in response to VEGF-C and VEGF-D. This product is capable of the determination of human VEGFR-3/Flt-4 in human serum, EDTA-plasma or cell culture supernatant.
