Description
The Real Time PCR Detetion Kit Marburg virus comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Marburg virus detection by using qPCR.
GENERAL INFORMATION:Marburg virus is an enveloped, filamentous virus with a single-stranded, negative-sense RNA genome, which is classified within the family Filoviridae and genus Orthomarburgvirus. It is a zoonotic pathogen that primarily infects humans and non-human primates, with the Egyptian rousette bat (Rousettus aegyptiacus) identified as its natural reservoir.
It causes Marburg virus disease, a severe haemorrhagic fever, which is characterised by a sudden onset of high fever, headache, malaise, vomiting, diarrhoea, haemorrhaging and multi-organ failure, and has a high case fatality rate. Transmission occurs through direct contact with the blood, secretions, organs or bodily fluids of infected individuals or animals, or through contact with contaminated materials. The virus has been responsible for sporadic outbreaks in sub-Saharan Africa.
KIT CHARACTERISTICS:
- Assay Mix Target composed by singleplex mixtures of specific forward/reverse primers and probe.
- Resuspension buffer
- DNase/RNase free water
- (OPTIONAL) Internal Control Assay Mix
- Mastermix solution
- Positive control
