Description
The Real Time PCR detection Kit Tick-borne encephalitis virus (related) comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Tick-borne encephalitis virus (related) detection by using qPCR.
GENERAL INFORMATION:Tick-borne encephalitis virus is a positive-strand RNA virus responsible of causing tick-borne encephalitis in humans. Tick-borne encephalitis virus affects the nervous system, presenting initial symptoms like fever, fatigue, headache, muscular ache and nausea, and finally causing meningitis and/or encephalitis. This disease is transmitted by the bite of infected ticks, and it is occurring in many woodland habitats of Europe and Asia. People who spend time outdoors close to forests in which ticks inhabit are at highest risk of infection. In addition to Tick-borne encephalitis virus, the TBEV-rel dtec-RT-qPCR detects Louping ill virus and Omsk haemorrhagic fever virus. Both are tick-borne viruses that share a high degree of sequence homology and are therefore considered by some authors to be part of the Tick-borne encephalitis virus species.
