The Real Time PCR detection Kit Entamoeba gingivalis comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Entamoeba gingivalis detection by using qPCR.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Entamoeba gingivalis is an opportunistic Amoebozoa. It is the only species belonging to the Entamoeba genus that can be found on the human oral cavity, inside the gingival pocket biofilm. It is an ameba often related to periodontal disease. E. gingivalis releases uncontrolled proteolytic enzymes on surrounding tissues, producing degradation. The species E. gingivalis and E. suis are so close phylogenetically than both species can be detected by the assay. However, E. suis infection in humans is uncommon and it is linked to contact with pigs.
KIT CHARACTERISTICS:
- Assay Mix Target composed by singleplex mixtures of specific forward/reverse primers and probe.
- Resuspension buffer
- DNase/RNase free water
- (OPTIONAL) Internal Control Assay Mix
- Mastermix solution
- Positive control
