GENERAL INFORMATION:Circulating autoantibodies towards gastric parietal cells have been detected in patients with pernicious anaemia, the most common cause of vitamin B12 deficiency in Western populations. Detection of these antibodies is a useful tool in the differential diagnosis of pernicious anaemia.
