Product Description

The Glyphosate AOAC ELISA Plate Test is a direct competitive ELISA based on the recognition of Glyphosate by polyclonal antibodies. The sample is derivatized and added to microtiter wells coated with goat anti-rabbit antibodies, followed by the addition of rabbit anti-Glyphosate antibodies and a Glyphosate enzyme conjugate. A competitive reaction occurs between Glyphosate present in the sample and the enzyme-labelled Glyphosate for the available antibody binding sites.

After incubation and a washing step, the substrate solution is added to generate a colour signal. The intensity of the blue colour is inversely proportional to the concentration of Glyphosate present in the sample. The colour reaction is stopped after a specified time and evaluated using an ELISA reader. Sample concentrations are determined by interpolation using the standard curve constructed with each run.

The AOAC ELISA method demonstrated good correlation with the LC-MS/MS reference method performed by independent laboratories involved in the approval of the test method under AOAC Performance Tested™ License No. 072104.
