Product Description

The Glyphosate Strip Test is a rapid immunochromatographic test designed for the qualitative screening of Glyphosate in water and food samples. For food matrices such as honey, lentils, baby food, and wheat/oat cereals, sample extraction is required. For these and other matrices, please contact technical support for the appropriate technical bulletin and/or specific matrix validation guidelines.

The test provides preliminary qualitative results. If necessary, positive samples can be confirmed by ELISA, HPLC, or other conventional methods.

The test is based on the specific recognition of Glyphosate by antibodies. The sample is derivatized and added to a test vial containing Glyphosate-specific antibodies labelled with colloidal gold. Glyphosate present in the sample competes with the Glyphosate conjugate immobilized on the test strip for antibody binding sites.

A control line is also present on the strip and should appear in every valid test, regardless of the presence or absence of Glyphosate in the sample. In the absence of detectable Glyphosate, two visible lines of similar intensity are produced. When Glyphosate is present at a detectable level, the test line becomes lighter than the control line or may not be visible.

Kit Features

• Rapid qualitative screening
Designed for the rapid screening of Glyphosate in water and food samples.

• Immunochromatographic technology
Based on the specific recognition of Glyphosate using antibody-based lateral flow technology.

• Detection limit
Glyphosate is detected at levels above the established cut-off point of 2.5 ppb.

• Multiple sample matrices
Suitable for water and various food samples, including honey, lentils, baby food, and wheat/oat cereals. Specific sample preparation may be required depending on the matrix.

• Easy visual interpretation
Results are interpreted by comparing the intensity of the test line with the control line.

• Semi-quantitative option
Semi-quantitative results can be obtained by comparing test strips with solutions containing known Glyphosate concentrations.

• Confirmation of positive samples
Positive results can, if necessary, be confirmed by ELISA, HPLC, or other conventional methods.
