DNAnimal Ident Horse IPC (LR)
Real-time PCR detection of horse DNA in animal-derived samples.
This real-time PCR kit provides reliable qualitative detection of horse DNA in food and feed samples from which DNA of sufficient quality and quantity has been extracted. It includes an internal positive control (IPC), allowing the identification of PCR inhibition in every reaction and reducing the risk of false-negative results. The assay is based on target-specific primers and fluorescent hydrolysis probes, ensuring high specificity and sensitivity for horse DNA detection. Please note that the assay may show cross-reactivity with DNA from some donkey breeds. To avoid cross-reactivity with donkey DNA, the recommended sensitivity cut-off should be applied.
The kit is suitable for food authenticity testing, species identification, food fraud investigations and regulatory compliance. It has been validated for use on a range of commonly used real-time PCR instruments, including Bio-Rad CFX96 Touch™, Agilent AriaMx™, Agilent Mx3005P™/Mx3000P™, Applied Biosystems™ 7500 and 7500 Fast (standard mode), Roche LightCycler® 480 (with colour compensation) and Applied Biosystems™ 7900 (ABI7900).
