ViroReal® Kit Bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV)

Detection of RNA of the N protein gene of bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV)

Background: Bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV) is an enveloped, non-segmented, single-stranded negative sense ((-)ssRNA) RNA virus that causes respiratory tract infections in cattle. It is an important virus in the bovine respiratory disease complex, affecting mostly young beef and dairy cattle. In stressful periods such as transportation or if co-infections are present (which is often the case in RSV infections), severe forms of pneumonia may develop. Treatment of co-infections with antibiotics, as well as disease control measurements are indicated.

Description: ViroReal® Kit BRSV uses one-step reverse transcription RT real-time PCR for the detection of the nucleoprotein (N) gene of bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV). Our carefully designed primers and probe ensure highest sensitivity and specificity. The kit consists of an assay mix for the detection of the pathogen as well as a positive control and an internal positive control (IPC). Reverse transcription and PCR can be performed in one reaction well.

Product Features:
