    DESCRIPTION:
    This kit is a qPCR assay (ELISA) for the detection of Mycoplasma hyorhinis in porcine sample.

    SUMMARY AND EXPLANATION:
    Mycoplasma hyorhinis is often reported as a commensal bacterium in the respiratory tract of pigs. However some M. hyorhinis strains are causing polyarthritis and polyserositis in growing piglets. M. hyorhinis is also suspected to cause pneumonia. Cultivation of M. hyorhinis from clinical samples such as nasal swabs, tonsil swabs, lungs, oral fluids or joints is complex, time-consuming and results might be inconclusive. On the contrary M. hyorhinis can be easily detected by sensitive and specific qPCR.

    Mycoplasma capricolum detection test kit by using qPCR. M. capricolum subsp. capricolum and M. capricolum subsp. capripneumoniae are closely related subspecies of the M. mycoides cluster. M. capricolum subsp. capripneumoniae is the etiologic agent of contagious caprine pleuropneumonia, a severe and typically lethal respiratory disease. M. capricolum subsp. capricolum infection occurs worldwide and appears widespread but has rarely been found in species of small ruminants other than domestic goats and, occasionally, sheep.
