ELISA TEST Bovine Herpes Virus 1 - BoHV-1 gE (IBR)

DESCRIPTION: This kit is based on an enzyme-linked Immuno enzymatic assay (ELISA) for the detection of antibodies against bovine herpes virus 1 (BoHV-1) gE protein in bovine serum.

SUMMARY AND EXPLANATION Infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR) is a highly contagious disease caused by bovine herpesvirus 1 (BoHV1). The disease affects the upper respiratory tract and is usually accompanied by signs of general illness. On the other hand, the virus can infect also the genital tract and cause vulvovaginitis and balanoposthitis.
Several countries have adopted strategies to eradicate BoHV1. In Europe, the most common approach involves the use of DIVA (differentiation of infected from vaccinated animals) vaccines using a glycoprotein E (gE)-deleted strain. These vaccines are used along with companion ELISA allowing the detection of gE antibodies and thus the differentiation of infected (gE positive) from vaccinated (gE negative) animals.
The present kit consists in an indirect ELISA which allows detecting antibodies to the whole BoHV1- gE protein in bovine serum samples.

CHARACTERISTICS:
-Test per kit: up to 96 samples
-Sensitive, specific, and reproducible
-Rapid (less than 2 hrs 30)
-Easy to perform
