Detection of DNA of the GPCR gene of Lumpy Skin Disease Virus (LSDV)

Background: Lumpy skin disease virus (LSDV) is a dsDNA virus within the genus Capripoxvirus. It is genetically very similar to the other two Capripoxvirus species sheeppox virus and goatpox virus. There is one serotype of LSDV. LSDV causes lumpy skin disease in cattle and buffalo. It is transmitted by arthropod vector. Traditionally it has been found in southern Africa but has been steadily spreading north to the Middle East and into eastern Europe and Russia.

Description: ViroReal® Kit Lumpy Skin Disease Virus uses RT real-time PCR for the GPCR gene of the lumpy skin disease virus.. Our carefully designed primers and probe ensure highest sensitivity and specificity. The kit consists of an assay mix for the detection of the pathogen as well as a positive control and an internal positive control (IPC). Reverse transcription and PCR can be performed in one reaction well.
