    DESCRIPTION:
    This kit is a qPCR assay that allows detecting Porcine circovirus type 2 and 3 genome in porcine sample.

    SUMMARY AND EXPLANATION:
    Porcine circovirus 2 (PCV2) has been associated with a remarkable variety of different disease syndromes, including postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS), porcine dermatitis and nephropathy syndrome (PDNS), porcine respiratory disease complex, reproductive failure, granulomatous enteritis, and necrotizing lymphadenitis. PCV2 is widespread in pig populations throughout the world.
    In 2016 a new Circovirus (PCV3) has been identified in cases of PDNS and abortions in sows as well as multi-systemic histiolymphocytic inflammation in piglets. Since then, PCV3 has been identified in several countries and appeared widely distributed. The precise role of PCV3 remains to be defined.

    Porcine circovirus type 3 detection test kit by using qPCR. Porcine circovirus type 3 (PCV-3) is able to infect swine. This novel virus was isolated from tissues of pigs suffering from porcine dermatitis and nephropathy syndrome, reproductive failure, myocarditis, and multisystemic inflammation. It is thought that PCV-3 has a horizontal transmission and vertical transmission because the viral genome was detected in feces, nasal swabs, oral fluids, trucks transporting pigs, fetuses, semen and colostrum.
