This Dermatophytes multiplex qPCR kit is design for the specific detection and identification of Microsporum canis, Trichophyton spp and Nannizzia gypsea (known as Microsporum gypseum)

DESCRIPTION:
This Dermatophytes multiplex qPCR kit is design for the specific detection and identification of M. canis, Trichophyton spp and N. gypsea.

SUMMARY AND EXPLANATION:
Dermatophytes, also commonly known as ringworm, are common fungal microorganisms involved in infections of the skin, hair and claws. The main zoophilic species detected are: Microsporum canis (by far the most common), Trichophyton spp (including benhamiae, bullosum, equinum, erinacei, mentagrophytes, quinckeanum, simii, and verrucosum) and Nannizzia gypsea (essentially geophilic species, formerly known as Microsporum gypseum). Clinical manifestations of dermatophytosis in animals, which most often are alopecia, scaling and crusting, may be localized or generalized, and may vary in severity. Lesions may depend on the strains and/or the species of dermatophytes. Therefore, the identification of the dermatophyte species involved is pivotal for their effective prevention, treatment and control.
