Real Time PCR Detection Kit Panel Human Severe Respiratory Viruses

The Real Time PCR detection Kit Panel Human Severe Respiratory Viruses comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 1 and 2 detection by using qPCR.

GENERAL INFORMATION:An outbreak of pneumonia, epidemiologically linked to the Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market in Wuhan, was notified to WHO on 31-Dec-2019 by the Chinese Health Authorities. Chinese scientists were able to isolate a novel coronavirus, named CoVID-19 by the WHO and, a first genome provided on 7th January 2020, was classified as belonging to a beta-coronavirus of group 2B with at least 70% similarity in genetic sequence to SARS-CoV. Coronavirus are enveloped viruses with a positive-sense, single-stranded RNA genome belonging to the Coronaviridae family. Additional genomes of several isolates provided by 6 different labs at different places, were analysed to design a set of primers and a probe fully specific for this Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (CoVID-19).
The SARS-CoV is a coronavirus responsible of the severe acute respiratory syndrome, a viral respiratory disease of zoonotic origin. Due to his similarities with the novel coronavirus it should be of relevance to analyse the presence of SARS-CoV to discard the presence of the virus on tested samples. The asssay consist on two independent assays one specific for CoVID-19 and another specific for SARS-CoV which excludes the CoVID-19.
Standard DNA was used to obtain the calibration curves and the retrotranscription step was verified in parallel with synthetic RNA for both assays.
