The DNAllergen2 Real-Time PCR kits complete our allergen offering with molecular testing method. This technique enables reliable detection and precise quantification of specific allergens which are not easy to identify by immunoassays (e.g celery), and show no cross-reactivity with related species (e.g. mustard and rapeseed).
RT-PCR provides a valuable molecular alternative when no ELISA method is available. The DNAllergen2 ready-to-use kits feature a harmonized PCR profile across the entire portfolio and include an internal positive control (IPC). The incorporation of UNG helps prevent carryover contamination.
DNAllergen2 Crustacea provides materials for the qualitative detection and/or for the quantitative analysis of DNA from food samples for Crustacea, according to directive (EC) 1169/2011. DNAllergen2 Crustacea enables the detection of Crustacea (Crustaceans).
The kit is validated for use with the Bio-Rad CFX96 Touchâ„¢ and Bio-Rad CFX96 Opus real-time cyclers.
The procedure of the current kit follows the basic principles of the real-time PCR amplification method. In case of quantification a standard curve can be performed, with the calibration standard DNA included in the kit.
Each reaction contains an internal positive control (IPC). If the DNA contains PCR inhibiting substances, the signal of the amplification control will be affected, or the amplification will be suppressed.
The DNAllergen2 Crustacea PCR kit is validated for detecting and quantifying crustacea allergens in flour samples, with the following sensitivity parameters:
- Limit of Detection (LOD): 0.4 mg / kg (using iMAGo or GeneSpin extraction kits).
- Limit of Quantification (LOQ): 1 mg / kg (using iMAGo or GeneSpin extraction kits).
- Quantitative Validation Range: From 0.4 mg to 40,000 mg of allergenic substance per kg of sample.
